April 4 - Tommy Myers makes his 2013 debut as his #7 Mules' baseball team enters the final month of their regular season. Also joining Shawn is Ron Holmes. His bowlers are a number one seed in the upcoming NCAA championships, a tournament that will pit them against some of the largest Division I schools in the nation. In our Spotlights this week, we talk to Mules' senior infielder, Kyle Grieshaber and Jennies' Senior bowler, Natalie Jimenez.
March 28 - Jens' Head Softball Coach, Susan Anderson joins us to discuss her team, their season, and the Jens' upcoming trip to Tahlequah, OK. There they will face the Riverhawks of Northeastern State University. Also joining us in the studio will be head coach Ron Holmes. His bowling team is ranked number two in the nation and is looking forward to the NCAA Championships in Canton, Mich. In our Sportspage Spotlights we talk to MIAA Track and Field Champions, Erin Alewine and Brent Vogel. And we also get a preview of the NCAA Bowling Championships as we join the Jennies for the NCAA selection show.
February 28 - Head Basketball Coaches, Kim Anderson and Dave Slifer, join Shawn Jones to discuss UCM’s final home games of the season vs. Truman State. Both the Mules and Jennies end the season undefeated at home and look forward to the post-season.
In our Sportspage Spotlights, we induct the 2013 class of the UCM Athletics Hall of Fame. Ten individuals and three groups are recognized at this annual event.
February 14 - Mules Head Basketball Coach, Kim Anderson, joins Shawn Jones to discuss the Mules rematch with Lindenwood University. And Jen’s Head Basketball Coach, Dave Slifer, does the same as both teams took on the Lions at home in UCM’s Multipurpose building the night before.
In our Sportspage Spotlights we talk to Senior Guard, Widgett Washington as he leads his teammates to another successful season. We also meet Quinnecia Twine, a Junior from Atlanta whose specialty is her 3-pt. shot.
February 7 - Mules Head Basketball Coach, Kim Anderson, joins Bill Turnage to discuss the Mules trip to St. Charles where they faced the Lions of Lindenwood University. Wrestling Coach, Justin Ensign, also joins Bill as they just hosted perennial D2 wrestling powerhouse, the University of Central Oklahoma.
In our Sportspage Spotlights we talk to BreAnna Lewis, a Junior guard who has helped her team to a 17-2 record. We also meet Ty Loethen, a Sophomore wrestler from Jefferson City who is putting together a very strong season at the 165 weight class.
January 31 - Original host, Bill Turnage returns to KMOS-TV to talk basketball with head coaches Kim Anderson and Dave Slifer. Both will discuss their recent trips to Jefferson City where both the Mules and Jennies took on the Blue Tigers of Lincoln University. We also join Coach A as he is inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and talk to UCM's standout decathlete, Brent Vogel, in this week's Spotlights.
January 24, 2013 - Mules Head Basketball Coach, Kim Anderson re-caps the Mules’ home game vs. Missouri Western and Head Coach Dave Slifer does the same for the Jennies as Missouri Western visited campus for a basketball double-header. In our Sportspage Spotlight we talk to Mules Senior Forward, #11 Dominique Long and Jennies Junior Forward, #21 Keuna Flax.
November 15 - Head basketball coach Kim Anderson joins Shawn to look at the Mules home opener vs. the Webster Gorloks. Mules' wrestling coach, Justin Ensign, also joins us in-studio as his team is fresh off a strong showing at the UCM open. The spotlight is on Mules' senior guard, Reggie Stallings who is ready to return to the line-up after an injury shortened season. Also in the spotlight is 149 pound wrestler, Nick Viterisi, a red shirt Junior looking forward to a big season for the Mules.
November 1 - Coach Jim Svoboda is in-studio to discuss the Mules last home game vs. the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney and re-cap the 2012 season as they prepare to play their final game in Fort Hayes, KS. Making his season debut will be head basketball coach, Kim Anderson. His Mules finished last year as MIAA regular season champs and hope to pick up where they left off by returning four players to their starting line-up. In the SPORTSPAGE Spotlights we meet Punter Matt Jordan and go behind the scenes of the UCM Media Network and KMOS-TV as they join efforts to provide students with hands-on experience in sports video production.
October 25 - Coach Jim Svoboda and his Fighing Mules have returned from a long road trip to Tahlequah, OK and are preparing for Senior Day versus Nebraska-Kearney. And head coach Lewis Theobald updates us on Jennies’ Soccer as they prepare to close out their regular season at home versus Truman and Lindenwood. In the spotlight we meet Senior Defensive Lineman, Reggie Dilworth and Senior Defender, Jenna Stones.
October 18 - Coach Jim Svoboda has dried off and is in-studio to relive his Mules’ rain-soaked Homecoming game vs. Central Oklahoma. And head coach Flip Piontek recounts the Jennies’ hard fought, 5-game Homecoming match vs. Emporia State.
The spotlight is on Senior Free Safety, Brett Ginn and Senior Right Side Hitter, Lisa Moore.
October 11 - Coach Jim Svoboda recounts the Fighting Mules most recent road trip to number one ranked Pitt State and Jennies’ Golf Coach Chris Port joins Shawn in the studio to discuss UCM’s newest athletics program.
The spotlight is on Sophomore RB, LaVance Taylor and Freshman golfer, Kayla Temple.
September 27 - Mules’ head football coach Jim Svoboda joins Shawn to discuss their most recent game vs. Truman State. Overcoming five turnovers, the Mules defeated the Truman State Bulldogs in front of a national audience as it was televised as CBS’s Division II Game of the Week, and on KMOS-TV in central Missouri.
Also joining Shawn in our studio is coach Jennies’ Soccer coach, Lewis Theobald. After going 2-0 last week with wins over Washburn and Emporia State, the Jennies will conclude their three match homestand against Southwest Baptist.
September 20 - Broadcast of Mules game against Truman Bulldogs
September 13 - Join host Shawn Jones and Mules' head coach Jim Svoboda as they recap UCM Football's most recent victory over #3 ranked Northwest Missouri, snapping a nine-game losing streak to the Bearcats. It's also volleyball season and the Jennies are off to a 6-3 start. Their head coach, Flip Piontek, will also join us in our studio to recap their latest victory over Missouri S & T.
In our SPORTSPAGE Spotlights, we meet senior defensive end, David Bax, and senior middle hitter, Brayde Peniston.
