Native America is a four-part PBS series that challenges everything we thought we knew about the Americas before and since contact with Europe. It travels through 15,000-years to showcase massive cities, unique systems of science, art, and writing, and 100 million people connected by social networks and spiritual beliefs spanning two continents. The American Buffalo, a new two-part, four-hour series, takes viewers on a journey through more than 10,000 years of North American history and across some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes, tracing the animal’s evolution, significance to the Great Plains, near demise, and relationship to the Indigenous People of North America. California Native artists share their creative practices within the Land Back movement. Their contemporary creative practices and activism help these artists work towards the reclamation of Native lands while restoring traditional ways. Airs Friday at 6 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Almost an Island

Through observing three generations of one family over the course of four years, ALMOST AN ISLAND explores what it means to be indigenous in the dramatically changing Arctic. Airs November 30 at 1 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Older than the Crown

OLDER THAN THE CROWN follows the trial of Sinixt tribal member Rick Desautel who in 2010 was charged with hunting as a non-resident and without a proper permit in Canada. To the Sinixt, hunting on ancestral land is an aboriginal right gifted to them by Creator. A right that has legally been denied to them since 1956. Airs November 15 at 1 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Indigenize the Plate

Exploring the connection between food sustainability and cultural sustainability for indigenous communities, a Diné woman (Natalie Benally) connects with a Quechua community developing their own solutions to address the same challenges. Airs November 9 at 1 p.m. on KMOS 6.1

Something Inside Is Broken

In this award-winning musical play, Native music, dance, and drama portray the events of the legendary California Gold Rush of the mid-1800s through the eyes of the local Indigenous tribes (Nisenan, Miwok, and Maidu).  Airs November 5 at 1 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Skindigenous Season 3

Skindigenous is a 13-part documentary series exploring Indigenous tattooing traditions around the world. Each episode dives into a unique Indigenous culture to discover the tools and techniques, the symbols and traditions that shape their tattooing art. The art of tattoo becomes a lens for exploring some of the planet’s oldest cultures and their unique perspectives on life, identity, and the natural world. Airs starting November 1 at 8:30 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Native Report

NATIVE REPORT celebrates Native American culture and heritage, listens to tribal elders, elevates youth voices, and talks to game-changers of Indian Country today. Airs Saturdays 5:30 a.m., weekdays 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Sundays 9:30 a.m. on Emerge 6.3

La Loche

After a deadly school shooting in a Canadian aboriginal community, a caring teacher sought to present a healing opportunity. This is a story of how nature heals, on a canoe trip that begins the process within these aboriginal teenagers of moving from fear and confusion to optimism and confidence. Airs November 3 at 6 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Little Bird

Searching for Sequoyah

Searching for Sequoyah spans two countries and three Cherokee nations and details Sequoyah's life and mysterious death. The program recounts his travels and final journey to Mexico where he hoped to reunite the "Mexican Cherokee" with the Cherokee nation after their removal to Indian Territory. Airs November 8 at 1 p.m. on Emerge 6.3

Return: Native American Women Reclaim Foodways for Health & Spirit

Through personal storytelling, follow alternative pathways to health and wellness by eating nutritiously and locally. A return to ancestral food sources can strengthen cultural ties to each other and to one's heritage. Featuring Roxanne Swentzell whose Pueblo Food Experience project is transforming lives in her community and beyond by Tlingit, Muckleshoot, Oglala Sioux, Menominee and Seneca women. Airs November 16 at 1 p.m. on Emerge 6.3
